Dear Pfeiffer Team,
better late than never… here’s a look back at our trip.
Itinerary: from Hamburg Tollerort, through the Kiel Canal in the evening, on through the Great Belt to Moss in Norway, next stop Brevik in Norway, then from Brevik to Bremerhaven.
It may not sound like much, but for us it was an unforgettable adventure; we keep watching our own travel video, which my husband spent a long time editing and setting to some fitting music.
We follow the waves, explore the Norwegian towns and were even allowed to join the crew, complete with helmets and high-vis vests, on our shore excursions across the terminal grounds.
Calm seas and even the infamous storm we’re currently experiencing rounded off the adventure.
The crew are on duty round the clock – an incredible job that deserves our utmost respect. We were fortunate to experience a competent captain with a reliable bridge crew and a helpful crew.
The friendly atmosphere made the trip a truly enjoyable experience.
We always received answers to all our questions about the ship, the cargo, navigation and pilots…
In the cosy mess, we were thoroughly spoilt with skilful culinary delights.
Whenever possible, the captain took the time to offer us advice.
The tips on spending the initial waiting time at the Tollerort Seamen’s Mission or staying overnight at the Seamen’s Hotel following our unexpected arrival in Bremerhaven were brilliant.
We were right at the heart of seafarers’ lives – a wonderful experience!
This also made it easier to cope with the fact that schedules can change, just like cargoes and ports of call.
You, dear Pfeiffer team, always looked after us brilliantly when faced with new situations, so we didn’t experience any holiday stress.
We hope our health will allow us to go on another cargo ship voyage.
Best wishes from Bochum and ahoy!
