I am delighted to be in touch following my cargo ship voyage from Le Havre – Bordeaux – Montoir – Brest – Le Havre, which has left me with wonderful memories.
First of all, I would like to thank your team for the excellent preparation and information regarding the trip.
For me, this was my second cargo ship voyage of this kind and I was thoroughly delighted. Above all, I was impressed by the captain, the first officer and the cook – and, of course, the entire crew. This crew made a very good, friendly and professional impression on me. You could see and feel this on deck too, which is surely down to the crew’s excellent leadership.
Unfortunately, I had to give the shore leave in the city of Bordeaux a miss for ‘temperature-related’ reasons (+41°C). Towards the evening, however, I was able to take a taxi with some of the crew to a nearby shopping centre to do some shopping.
This made the shore excursion to Saint-Nazaire all the more interesting, with a visit to the Base Sous-Marine, the Second World War submarine bunker, and the surrounding area.
The seven-day cruise was a truly wonderful experience, full of lasting memories and many exciting and humorous conversations on board, not to mention the atmospheric scenes in the ports and out at sea.
I rounded off this trip with a 4-day visit to Normandy, including the Alabaster Coast and a visit to the historic beaches. After arriving in Le Havre, I set off on my journey home by car, stopping off briefly in the Champagne region.
The trip was absolutely brilliant!!
