We all look back on a year 2020 that has brought new experiences, limitations, disappointments and hopes for all of us. At the beginning of the year, contacts and bookings were very good. But from March came the big cut. Except for a few inland waterway trips, we had to cancel all booked trips, there were several hundred. How often did we write or say on the phone: “Unfortunately we have to….”? . We were very happy about your understanding, but I am sure that some tears were shed, e.g. by the couple who wanted to visit their children in Brazil. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the many customers who have placed their trust in us, postponed their trip and left their deposit. Through this and with the help of payments from the federal and state governments, we were able to keep our agency afloat in its 38th year of existence. The experiences and adventures of 2020 have moved us all, touched us and also made us somewhat humble.
But as the German sailor says: “After a wave trough follows a wave crest”. With this optimism, we enter the year 2021. It will certainly take some time until hygiene measures and vaccinations bring progress. But we are sure that, step by step, normality will return to passenger travel. At any rate, we are putting the driving lever from stop on the “agency bridge”: Slow ahead. So we look forward to new contacts and enquiries.
